Defending Portablising

Who here has been on another forum where someone found a portable that was made here and they were bashing it, and the act in general? Have you tried to defend the portables?

over on the Shenmue Dojo, which is annother forum i patron, they just found out about the L64 and people were bashing it. here are some of the quotes they said about it.

Kinda' pointless now. The PSP now has a N64 emulator...

What are some of the things you have said to defend such portables?

Uhh... the fact that ROMs are glitchy, you have to waste a kidney to get a PSP, and the n64 emulator runs as slow as I do while sitting down. <_<

I make portables so I can play my favorite games on the go. Why should I or any of us care what other people think about it? If they don't like it, then too bad for them.

Let's see the PSP play Playstation games. Or GameCube or PS2 or Xbox... Besides, any way you put it most ROMs are illegal according to US copyright laws.

Most people just bash things because they have no means of doing it themselves; most are just hampered with stupidity. I have no interest in the lastest and greatest in video games. *hugs Sega Genesis, NES, various Atari 2600s, Game Boy Colors and original Glacier blue GBA*. DS? There's nothing I find interesting with it. PSP? Why buy something I can play expensive games on, and buy additional copies of movies that either are in my collection already or are just plain junk on top of that? Xbox 360? I played it, not impressed. PS3 or Wii? Meh. Gamecube? Maybe Super Smash Bros. Melee, but that's about it. Xbox? I'll buy one when they become cheaper, so I can use it as a media center box. So getting a new game system to play old games on is silly. *Plays Sonic 2*

One day right before school was out for summer, I showed someone a picture of the l64. They said: "Thats lame! PSP is the best thing since food! PSP is waaaay better."

I respect the PSP if its used by someone cool, like vb_master. But if its used by someone like this dork, then they deserve pain. As well as being dumb, this guy is also very ugly. He disrespected marshallh's work of genius, and therefore he was dealt with.

I closed his locker on his psp on purpose, it was still alive, so I ripped off the place where you put those thingys in. That'll teach him.

I really don't like the PSP. As far as I can tell, it's just Sony trying to make a quick buck by stuffing a PDA into a fancy case and put a joystick on it. And then they try to make it look cool so people will buy it just to be in the "in" croud (A lot like ipods).

I do, however, like the DS, and I own one for that reason. And the Wii and 360 looks nice too. But the PS3 is complete crap. For the video memory, each one uses the exact same chips. The 360 has like 7, the PS3 - 4, and the wii - 1. The PS3 is trying to claim they have the best graphics for their ad campaign, but the Wii is going for a brand new way to play games, so their focus is in other areas, so the memory thing isn't a huge issue. It also doesn't help that they're charging 600 dollars for their POS console.

The reson people are flaming the portables is just an attempt to look hardcore. If it's not mainstream, then it must be crap, and you must be a loser. Let's be cool and laugh at him because we could never do anything that neat.

They all look good but we all know whose going to win. Wii will sell the most in Japan and America. But everyone will say PS3 is the best ever lol we is in the in crowd der der der. The Xbox 360 will stand proud, being the most powerful.
