Wifi game feed

Post by typamc95 »

Okay,my idea is that if you could put a special memory card containing wifi soft ware in a memory card, could you use this to....
  • Put a game in with a wifi feeding portable you created.
Feed the game data from the disc through the internet using the wifi.
Have the system read the data, and play it back to you.
Play game cube games with a super small portable, contianing very little hardware, using very little battery life.....

It's possible, but gamecube games can be a gigabyte... Do you really want to transfer a gigabyte through wifi?

How about have an offsite gamecube that does the processing and only transfer the A/V and controls, so the amount of data transfered is at a minimum.

yea, put all the stuff in your backpack, and make a sweet looking case for the screen and the controller.

Btw, what would i need to do this? That would be sweet.

Or the gamecube could be at home and transfering the stuff over the internet. I don't know how it could find it on the internet, though...
All I know is that you would need 1337 5k1ll5 to do this.

The idea.....
Portable contians wifi, wifi connects to internet, make a memory card for the game cube using the buffalo wifi thing,it gets the game data and feeds it back to you.
Or shell sever connected to the gamecube getting the data, and a could make and sell these by puting it on a large server shell.....

So are you says that the disc and reader would be sitting at home, portable would have screen, controller and gamecube motherboard and the two pieces would be conected over the internet? I don't think you could transfer the info fast enough.
I think an offsite/in backpack gamecube connected to a screen and controller through wifi and/or the internet would be about the limit.

So like, load as you play? That would still require long buffer lengths and if the wifi where to die, then you'd be screwed. If you really feel like it, I'd do it with the NES, and even then you have NOACs.

I've seen wireless video transmitters and revievers. I have no idea where to get one, but it would be cool!

This is how I made a "portable" NES. Only not wireless. The screen runs off batteries and it connected to an NES under my bed! :D

If you're looking at this post and it was made before 2008, just ignore it.

Anyone got any good sugestions for wireless video and audio transfer?...while still be nice and small. It only needs to broadcast upto about 30 feet, maybe 50 max.

I would use this design fully:

Image

........to make people on the internet spaz like crazy, i'd put a fake disk slot in it too. Just to make it look like its playing a game, even tho the game is in a gamecube and a wireless controller is hooked up and its all packaged in a sweet looking case like that one!

Parts include:
Wifi video and audio transfer unit(s)
Gamecube
Wavebird or similar controller (mini wireless)
PSOne screen
IDE Wire of coarse
Hot Glue gun
Custom case similar to pic
Black glossy paint
Battery capable of powering the cube and wireless transfer units

....simple enough no?

Anyone up to the challenge to help me a long with this? I will need a person to make the case for me, maybe dave
