He's saying that you should try connecting the Video out of the system to the video out of the camera and seeing if anything shows up on the LCD screen (which would mean that it could potentially work). I would think not, though. I would think that to have an LCD screen with a PCB board to convert composite to the screen's digital format would be harder or more expensive than just converting the digital image from the camera into the digital format of the screen (if that makes any sense ). So it looks like the metal casing encases the lcd and the small pcb right behind.(That's where the ribbon cable and two wires are coming from.)
I also think there's some confusion about where the video out plugin is on the camera. It's not on the lcd or the pcb right behind it. It's on a different pcb and they aren't directly connected, but they both connect to the mainboard of the camera. So i guess my question is can i connect a video signal straight to the lcd board. or do i have to include the rest of the guts of the camera.
I tried putting a video signal to the camera but, the camera wasn't giving power to the screen, because it had to have a couple of switches closed, but when I turned the switches to close, the camera started beeping like it needed the memory card or something. So i'll need to figure that out, anyway there are 24 pins on the lcd ribbon cable that i know for sure are for the video signals, and then the other two wires are to power the mini backlight. Does anyone think i could hook a video signal directly to the ribbon cable, because it looks like I have no other choice.
You'd need an LCD controller to hook up the LCD directly, via the ribbon cable.
