I always thought that making a home brew air conditioner seemed easy, just use a powerful pc cooling fan and some Peltier Junctions from American Science and Surplus add very large heat sinks to the hot side of the junctions and arrange it all in a case made from insulation and plywood, power with pc power supply and place in window. Duct tape seal as necessary. Of course the hot sides of the junctions and the heat sinks would need to be arranged so they sat outside the window.

Seems so simple that it couldn't possibly fail but I don't know anything about thermal transfer or air conditioners for that matter

But assumedly th US's temperature would proportionatly increase and Britain should still be cooler. Stop using so many fossil fuels America! Britain is small so we don't pollute as much!

where is your source on that info, last i checked land area has nothing to do with pollution population and number of cars etc does tho, i for one thing this whole panic global warming thing, i still say everyone should read state of fear by micheal crichton it gives a lot of insight to the whole global warming thing

In England we are taught in school that t US created more carbon emissions than pretty much the rest of th ewhole world put together.

Britain does cause less pollution. AS WE ARE SO SMALL! We just physically could not compeat with the US even if we were trying! There are only like 66 million people in England! Or something like that.

So yes, land mass does affect carbon emmisions.

It was pretty bad in the Midwest last weekend, especially since I was down in Kansas City working on ECHOES OF THE PAST, ala the ghost town documentary. Preproduction, the actual shoot is elsewhere (trailer coming soon!)

Monday I wanted to get some work done but the AC in my APT wasn't cutting it so I said "screw it" and went to the bar. Got a bunch of free drinks!

Me too man!!! lifeguards unite! Yeah, it was hot here, but today was overcast and windy, so no one was at the beach, so the lifeguards just went like swimming and flipping off the floats.

Yeah, global warming, where the average temperature is increasing 0.6-1.2 degrees fahrenheit over the last century. Also keep in mind that the last ice-age ended about 6-10 thousand years ago, we could still be coming out of it. And before anyone says anything, volcanos putout more sulfur and carbon-monoxcide in one uroption or vent then we do in over 5 years with cars and power plants.

landmass has absolutly ZERO to do with co2 emisions! NOTHING! its all about population, the ammount of vehicles etc, so shut up! god you think because your from england your just automatically smarter! yes america might produce more emmisions but thats because WE HAVE MORE PEOPLE/VEHICLES! not landmass. plus the amount of co2 put out is negligable like sparkfist said, its the HFC and CFCs that actually damage the ozone layer and atmosphere. i still think global warming is bunk and say everyone should read state of fear to understanding were im coming from.

I'm sorry I find this just so full of lies. First off England was one of the worst countries when it came to the industrial revoluiont. Hell you had a change of the survival of moths because trees outside plants became dark gray with ash.

England nearlly deforest their whole country looking to fuel the steel mills you had a century ago. The only that changed is that you used coal, and that now all industrialized countries have a goal of reducing emmision.

And the thing about the USA being the worst... Yeah look at China. As the present largest industrial power they make a lot of emmision. Infact you can even blame them for high gas cost as now the rest of the work is having them at the table when barrel are sold off.

England isn't perfect, and was just as bad if not worst then the U.S. years ago. And we are not the worst now.

Jesus christ. THE MORE LAND MASS YOU HAVE, THE MORE PEOPLE WILL BE THERE, THE MORE CARS THERE WILL BE and the more carbon emission there will be. You say thats not true?

America started off with a much lower population that England had. Yet now you dwarf us something like 5 times, if not more, in poulation size.

Oh we never deforrested all our trees. Sure they did use a lot of timber, but not that much. THe moth things, thats an example used to show darwins survival of the fittest theory on moths RIGHT NEXT TO THE FACTORYS, only right next to the factories were covered in ash.
