i'm doing a retro oject with GC i'll post it up when i'm done and i need to wire the reset button to the original nes buttons i need to know on GC what contcts are active seeing as how the old nes buttons have two contacts for reset and GC has 4. pics with help would be greatly appericiated and finally let me finish my project.
i think the four that you are talking about are ground, have you actually desoldered the thing yet because i think there are smaller pins in the middle thatmay be them, also you should learn to use your multimeter it can be a great tool for finding things like this out extremely fast
see i use my multimeter a lot but in this case i don't know the setting and mines hard to read seting wise where idk which setting shows me continuity. i haven't desoldered it i removed the tin cover allowing me to see contacts i'l post a pic below.
im taking a guess here but to me it looks like it connects the one on the corner to ground, just because the corner one is the only one not connected to the others and it has a trace going to only it,
better photos belowthe one i'm pretty sure is a ground but the rest is tricky, heres another catch i'll show u, on the original nes button board it's got a trace from led to reset buton makin that my other lead considering it ws isolated to one lead.
The joint on the bottom right was connected to power input, most likely. All the others are grounds that are connected to each other and to the ground plane on the PCB.
So just connect the corner with any of the three other joints and the switch should work.
sweet thanks a ton i'll post my full mod tomm it should be done by then. it's gamecube in original nes with gameboy player, wireless controllers suped updual fans and all workin original buttons and lights.

my project nears 98 percent all that's left is wiring 2 high intensity led's after my reset button still has bugs wehn i hard wire to a ground on the 4 prongs i get my leds to go out and not come on til power resets. otherwise i gotta mount my mod name plate, mount dor hinges mount plexi rom base that's it it's a total of about 8 -10 holes to drill a 15 min job but can't button it up till i get my reset fixed!
