Sony's most embarrissing E3 moments

Post by sammy »

I'm sorry if this has been posted before but check it out:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IH2w2l1JTs4

It's a vid from the sony E3 press conference.

I really like the part where they reveal that there is a motion sensor inside the controller and then they show the video of that stupid flying game :)

The game is based on Japanese history... So here's this giant crab

You know if I didn't know that that was nothing more then cleverly edited propaganda, I likely would believe the PS3 was crap. However I know better then to judge a system by the demos and unfinished launch titles. I think it's really hipacrytical of people to blast the PS3 as crap when they turn around and say "the Wii is going to dominate". This generation is really getting annoying with people making these stupid comments.

And remember what Ben said when it comes to who wins the generations. "It's always the system with lower specs." Atari was king of the 8bit, Sega had the 16bit, Sony (who released 2nd) had 32/64bit, and Sony (released 2nd) had the 128bit generation. This generation we're transisioning into could be Nintendo or Microsoft, who knows, no one, so shutup!

That video was pretty funny  ! And Sparkfist, I don't really think it was a video saying that the PS3 will not sell, more of a video of Sony's lack of creativity over the E3 season. And saying that Sega "won" the 16-bit era is definitely debateable...

The Wii or 360, but what I think is hipacytical is that people are saying the Wii ths the bomb its the best thing to hit video games since the NES. Exactly how many people have played with it? How many games will take advantage of this new controller? And really how the hell does that new controller encurage non-gamers to try it out? I think all the hype surrounding it is just that hype with little concret facts or statistics to prove it will win.

And I will agree that Sony's marketing department should be fired. Moving the PS3 from a console to something like a computer is really not a wise idea. It's going to alienate customers and fans, much like if a game like Oblivion or a sequal to WoW were released only for Vista. It's not a smart move.

Oh and really why the hell is the controller the same? I've said this before and it needs to be repeated. "The PS2 controller is a nice controller, but for FPS it sucks. The analoge sticks are in the worst place."

i think its from one of the games they showed at e3.
i kinda would like to see the PS3 fail because they seem to have gone a bit stupid with all their ideas of "great new media" umds were a massive failure and blu ray is way to expensive, i miss humble old sony that made the kickass psone, but i dont think sony can fail there are a lot of people out there who would rather buy the ps3 just because they dont like the image of nintendo

I have a newfound respect for you Sparkfist. you Know not to judge them before they're all released. I must admit, I have done a lot of prejudging this generation, but I'm past all that. I am going to look at everything objectivly now.

Ben's formula is pretty good, but there are other factors that have to be considered. first of all, the Dreamcast had the lowest specs of the 128-bit generation, and we all know how well that went. The genesis, totally whipped the snes in the 16 bit generation. But, It's not all obout specs, release dates are important as well. The first out usually doesn't do well. Saturn, Dreamcast? Those that release first, don't know what their competition has got up their sleeve, and that could be the downfall of them. The playstation was the weaker, but it had a good Idea of what it's compitition was bringing, before launch. there are other factors too, but I don't have time to explain.

Judging the systems before hand is a big problem...Ben's formula seems to work, but perhaps the corelarion only exists because games on lower spec machines have to be fun to compete rather than super flashy.

A good bit of it is the software, which we simply do not have access to. All we have are specs, comparisons, and hype.

Also, I consider the 16-bit era a general tie. Which, if either, may have won in specific regions is still debatable.

These are all your opinions. Things like this make sparks. Sparks make flames and fry systems. Flames and fried systems make anger and burnt things.

How about 05 E3, those gameplay target videos being passed as 'actual gameplay'...that kinda made my loyalty to Sony be rather...questioned.
