NOAC to Serial?

Hey, Uhh this stumbled apon me and Nes_Fanatic...

My freind found a Serial to USB thing on the internet, and it has 9 pins sticking out (5-4) just like the NOAC controller can take in, and I know the NOAC Controllers take serial connections, so my idea is this...
Can I plug a 5-4 (9 Hole) NOAC Controller into a 5-4 (9 pin) Serial Port?

The controller would fit....

sure, you could plug it in, but getting a response from your computer is a whole other thing. The Stelladaptor turns Atari 2600 "serial" information to usb, and the serial port used for the 2600 is a ancestor of the ones used on NOACs, so I'd look there first.

Not the right pinout, but it is possible to use nes controllers on a pc through the serial port, and it's possible to use the serial port to control your NES (as if it were a controller).

Gannon thats what Im asking, how can I use NOAC controllers though the Serial port?

while I've never actually gone and tried to make a portable, I have bought MANY noac systems, and found out that the pinouts are not consistent. I made an adapter to go from a noac system to my running pad, and it didn't work on some systems. I never bothered testing as to whether the 2 or 3 auxillary pins were dead in the other noacs, or what, but you want to test EVERY noac's pinout to be sure....actually, one of my preliminary adapters I think looped the voltage wrong and it destroyed the controller input ON the system (at least i think it did...the controller 1 didnt' work anymore, even with the native controllers).

What I wanna know is, why would you even want to use NOAC controllers insted of real NES ones? I mean, NOAC controllers are cheaply built, with "design features" (NES games never use "C" or "D" buttons, no matter what my Super Joy IV tells me) built before actual use.
