any ideas about this

a friend gave me a dvd player the other day (not a portable one, one of those big ones that plugs into a tv) and the only problem with it is the actuators that move the tray aren't working right, Well I was wondering what everyone thought about building it into an old cd player case. I looked inside and the control board is about 3inch by 6 inch. if it is doable i could plug it into my porta-geni I am building as I am keeping the tv fully functional.

That would be cool, but would the dvd player play well while moving, since it wasn't meant to move? It might use more power than a portable one, since it was meant for the endless supply coming from the outlet.

thats what I still have to figure out is how to power it but if all else fails I can hook up a wall wort as I will be using it mainly at work in the guard shack. The only prob is can I bypass the sensors that detect the opening of the tray and such so I can put it in a flip top case
