Ok. Lets begin. I will be Referring to a sharkpad pro n64 controller 1st. I opened up the joystick, only to find plastic. So I looked at the 2 metal things on the sides. I opened one up. All I found past the circuit board was a little bit of metal, and on the circuit board was contacts. By moving the plastic stick, it turns the plastic wheel, which touches more contacts the further it is pushed. The contacts are the three metal parts on the outside of the whole thing. There are six in all. Connected from each of the three sets, for me was 2 wires. Tracing these wires back to the source I found letters.

I am determined to find out which wire does what. My plans are to connect the right things together. To do that, I must start with the right connections to the original joystick. Once I find these, I will create a diagram.

Oh... well I wish you would have told me that before... yeah... I don't think that one uses pots then. Which means you can't use a Gamecube joystick. I've never seen a joypad with that kind of joystick encoder though. Can you get me pictures of the inside of the joystick so I can confirm? Huh... I guess that explains the DIP chip on the board too. It's the encoder for the joystick, which connects to the CoB. It's all coming together now!
