First time posting here. . .got a couple questions.

I'm doing a major case mod on my NES and I have everything done except a couple things I want to do. First question, How can I add LEDs to my NES? I want to add some under my vent and two controller indicator lights. Second and last question, is it possible to add an LED to my NES controller? Ive tryed once but it just fried. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks

Unregulated 5v=Toast
You need a resistor for the LEDs. And send regulated voltage to all of them.
