Hmmm, I'm not sure if Dave posted his diagram on a PSU yet, but I have an idea. As in his portable, we should get a 12-14V. battery with atleast 5000-10000 mA/h, which could cost a hefty price. Anyway, power the +12V. line as is, but for the -12V. line, maybe get a voltage inverter, and wire that in parallel with a +5 V. line coming out of the LDO (7805). Then just get a nifty TI PTH8000 to power the 3.3 V. line, and ground the damn thing. Maybe we can somehow interface this onto a DPDT switch, like a LOT of wires coming from a pin on the switch, or just sharing input pins...you think this idea is plausible?
Oh yeah, I forgot to add, if we get a battery with more voltage, I guess get a 7812, but maybe something more...'stable'? Samething with the 5 V., maybe instead of a LDO, something a bit 'sophisticated'...overheating is an issue on this.
