Have you tried directly executing the bin?

Well if by executing you mean clicking on/double clicking, then yes, I have tried that. I just get a message saying something like "cannot find the right program to open this type of file"

Open up a terminal (and if needed, chmod the file to 755), and type in './{filepath}'

Just use iChat, it uses everything that AIM does, and should be loaded already if you are using OS X

yup, use iChat AV. My mac should arrive on Teusday, i can't wait! But....my Dell also does the job. Its got OSX and XP on it
I did it semi-leagal. I pay Apple for OSX install, then download a modded one. They still get their money, and i'm happy, there ya go

I did what gannon said, I typed in ./BrianHausheer/Desktop/aim.bin into a terminal and it said no such file existed. Ill try specifying in the mac hd
edit: nevermind about all this, ill just use ichat.

Download Stuffit Expander. That should open .bin files. (even if you're going to use ichat, you should still be able to open .bin files)

Download StuffIt Expander. You need it to extract .bin files.
I use
AdiumX as my AIM client. It's easy, its configurable, you can write scripts for it. There's even a
website that hosts the scripts/skins.
EDIT: oh, you dont like adium...

I use
Fire . I prefer it to all the others I've tried.
