gamecube case modding

I do not believe that it is really possible to do this in a way to make the NGC still look stock. Besides, as stated before, the laser only reads so far out.
If you REALLY want to play DVDs or something, and still make it look nice, I'd look into connecting something through the ports on the bottom, and even that may require some serious NGC programming and hardware knowledge.
Of course, I endorse modular design.

Warranty-Voiding fun!

I'm not sure how it would work (be balanced or not) but what about cutting the DVD-Rs with an exacto knife. Score it several times and than see if it snaps off clean. If you can do that you wont have to carve out the inside of your NGC.

well then, its a good thing you arent the one wanting to do the mod. Seriously, whats the point in making a post saying that his reasons for not doing something your way arent good enough for you? Its stuff like that that is considered spam. You arent bringing anything useful into the topic. Next time, stop, and think. "Is what I am about to say really going to help this person out?" and if not. dont click "Reply"
Also, it may be possible to build a device that can spin the disc(somewhat resembling a record player[you guys know what a record player is, right?] only the needle is static) and have some sort of cutting tool to score the disc. Or cut all the way through it. Just a thought.

Fabre wrote:Oh, and one more thing - are you sure the Viper chip will let you play backups? Because AFAIK, it is only a BIOS hack that lets you run your own code on your 'Cube without having to use the PSO hack, by flashing an onboard EEPROM on the modchip board.
yeh its already installed and it works but you have to do a disk swap to get them to boot
you could probubley run the so called bios from pso if they where not encrypted and tape down the lid sencer im shure someone will get that working in a few months
as far as I can tell this is what it dose it boots a origall gc disk stops it from spinning patches something so it will read the forword copy correctley then runs the oficall bios
jackfrost has always posted lots of useless crap to get his post count up that is a little annoying but hes not so badGeebs61 wrote:well then, its a good thing you arent the one wanting to do the mod.
