i made a nice little package and zipped it up for whoever is interested in making a protection circuit.

keep in mind
- this is for a SINGLE cell, you will need to make one for each cell (probably 4-6)
- youre going to have to etch a board yourself, or else bascially start from scratch yourself. the DS2720 chip from maxim only comes in a 8-soic package.

yes, a cell is one contained 3.6v module of lithium battery. a 7.4v battery is made up of 2-6 individual cells.

there are multi-cell chips out there, but since im only using 2 cells i just went with a very simple single cell design.

yeah i have 6 cells, each 3.7v. i need one of those ones with the com on it.

So i just bought a smaller battery for 2 quid and took that protection circuit, Damm easyer then anything else. So now screen and 3.3v connector are running off it, and the charging circuit is all hooked up.

OOOOOO look its charging:

Then with a flick of the switch the screen comes on

And heres some groovy pictures of my gamecube running through the led modded screen in the dark.

My n64 opener tool is coming tomorrow so i'll hook that up !!!

Yeah, "that thing." Anyways, could I just snip it out? becaise the expansion pak is keeping the screen from being level.

you can cut off the whole thing that sticks up above the screen if you LED mod it.
BTW, that's the best 3-LED mod i've seen, great job.

Just a thought, maybe it'd be possible to get an LED mod a more even coating of light if you could get like a one way mirror, place it about a hlf inch over the screen, I think that it might cover more evenly, and you might be able too use only two LEDs, maybe even only one. I mean, it would reduce power consumption even more than just a regular LED mod.

A mirror eh? Like put in a few leds, then put a mirror in there so it reflects the light better? Ill do some testing.

YAY! Remember it was my idea. remeber, a one way mirror so you can see the screen.
