Would 3v work the same as 3.3v?

Topic. I got a car adapter, and it modifies 12v down to 3 voltz. would it work?

It might, it will have to be able to provide 1.5 amps.

As far as I know, too little volatge won't hurt it.

mine runs on 3v. but they are not all created equal. to little voltage is not a problem.

If it were me, I wouldn't even bother. Yes, it may work, but it may glitch as well. When I build my N64 portable, I'll be using a high-quality 3.3V switching regulator... but that's just me. It won't hurt to try it... hmm... well, it may, if there's too much ripple. I would use a decent sized smoothing capacitor to make sure there's minimal ripple, but again, that's just me. I'm paranoid about sensitive electronics.

When I built my CheapTAG to reflash a PassKey, it told me to use 2 AAA batteries as a 3.3V source. You should be all right.

Woo. It worked. long story short, later something happened to my n64. it had nothing to do with 3.3 volts...

Gosh i read and was told time after time again that it had to be around 3.3, and that 3 wouldn't work. That would have saved me a TON of time.

some work with 3v, some don't. my old one worked fine but my new one didn't even turn on with 3v.
