It really takes me back to the days when computers weren't for the unworthy and chip tunes were king.

Anything by Michael Giacchino.. He is best known for doing the music for the Medal of Honor series, and later Alias and The Incredibles, but nobody cares about those last two.

Super Smash Brothers Brawl Theme
Each Night He Comes Home to Me (MOH: Underground)
Arnhem (MOH: Frontline)
Sigh of the Wind (FF: Crystal Chronicles)

F-zero: Big blue (though I like the Super Smash Bros Melee version best)
Castlevania: Bloody Tears
Castlevania: Vampire Killer
Strider: Raid!
Anything from:
Chrono Trigger
All Zelda games
Streets of Rage 1&2 (I think the music from 3 sucks)
Final Fantasy
Batman for Sega Genesis (no seriously, it's really good)

the list goes on...

Well, I have a few soundtracks, but my absolute favs are Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Trigger.

Also, not what you were asking, but I enjoy Pac-Man Fever and Do the Donkey Kong from that 80s album, Pac-Man Fever.

Well I like the whole album from Castlevania Symphony of the Night, I perticularly like Alucard's Theme.

I also enjoy listening to some of the GTA series radio stations. Like Chaterbox, that classical one from GTA 3, K-chat, VCPR and VROCK.

Other then those, I don't listen to too much VG music. Now anime, that I could right a page and a half on easy.

Yea, if you can hum it with the right notes on it, that's good. I always get so mad at people that only know the basic rhythm and can't figure otu the right notes, much less if they actually played the game  !
I did manage to get the sheet music transposed so i could play it on my saxophone. Too bad it's probably thrown away... :(
