Sparkfist wrote:Oh I dont know if anyone cares but I did look at the member's list to see what it was that kind of made us elegible for "Senior Member". First it seems dates, it goes down to May 31, and secondly I think you have to have at the very least double digite posts, or an active account. So some of you that came along later might become one, in a few months.
well, you theory is somewhat right, but still wrong. :P
We did slightly base it on join date, but the total posts or active account thing is off. If that was the case, dkap01 or abbibi wouldn't be senior members either :)

Then what exactly did you base it on? Being a member of the board for a certain amount of time?

(When I say this, I don't mean "joining before a certain date", meaning no more senior members than there are now, but I mean "having been a member for a set amount of time", meaning the posters joining now might be senior members in about 8 months.)

How many senior members are there? If there are like 60, then who cares if they are a SM.

I dunno, 45 maximum, since Cennar is not, and there are 45 posters that joined before he did. Also, that is the number of posters who joined befoere May 31st.

BTW, post 300! ^^

But all are not Senior Members, most are but there are about 10 maybe 15 that are not as they either only posted a few times or are not here anymore.

This really feels like its setting up to be a ranking system (not that its bad). I wonder if this will be like Gundam.com's was were your rank went up by quilty of post rather than quanitly.

Senior Members were chosen based on people who joined back in May and who are knowledgeable and helpful members. I don't foresee there being a large amount of different ranks, or a lot of people getting them. I just thought it would be good to reward the good members some instead of doing that to the bad members.

I knew it would work sooner or later: post a lot, but not too much, and pretend to know what you are talking about :P

keep in mind that time of joining makes a difference as well. A lot of people that joined early at least lurked the boards and have been around for a while. Senior is the root word of seniority, which means you've been on for a while. Shoot, this title is making me full of myself a bit :|
