woah dope ive been back like a week and ive been quoted... KABLAMA JAMA!!! now im trying to hard... well i think fella your not quite screwed and what not your going to have to hold down Alt f4 every time you try to use a program and when you get a minute try and find a windows help profesonal to uninstal your hard drive, I would charge you about 50 bucks and keep your computer in a shop for like a month. or you could just end task and find the thing on your computer. use reasoning and search around looking for folders with only one exacuteable in some far off space called your program files. beacuse any talenless moron Ie the fella that put that spy bar checker deal together, or blind and senile typist witch ever you perfer to call them. is probly dumb enough to lay some clues down. (but not dumb enough to spell worse than me, good old brain damage.)
First be sure to uninstall it from the Windows Registry.
Then goto "Run" and type in "msconfig" (no quotes).
Goto the startup tab, and see if it's there.
If it is then simply uncheck the box and it wont bother you unless you start it up yourself. Otherwise if it's not there it's uninstalled.

I am a geek.
You don't have a rubbish anti spyware installed. You have REAL spyware installed (adware in your case).
Google "ewido anti malware" and install that (download and install updates too) and run a full scan in safe mode.
The adware you have basically tells you that you have spyware and gives you the tool to fix it, It is just that you have to pay for the tool that removes it. Very devious and very nasty. have come accross it many times before.
Hope this helps.
Don't lock the poor guys topic just yet, It sounds like he actually needs help this time.

You can't uninstall it but if your running Windows 9x (Millenium Edition included), you can get rid of it and change the default Windows shell to the good 'ol Program Manager without a taskbar. Although, Program Manager sucks so I don't recomend it. That's why they made Calmira for 3.x!Dr. KillGood wrote:you cant uninstall the windows taskbar wtf?
Err, sorry for bringing this off-topic.
I'd imagine right now you wish you were a cuttlefish...

Yes you do. Spyware Quake is spyware. It's installed, among other sources, through the VCodec trojan. The message you see is it trying to trick you inot buying it.Dr. KillGood wrote:PS:I dont have spyware.
Did you even put it into Google?

Yeah, that spyware can be pretty nasty. I had it on my computer a few months ago. Just follow the guide on Geeks to Go that Bicostp posted, and you'll be fine. It worked for me.
