Kurt's PLEASE LOOK Thread (Question 2, 3 | Opinion 1)

Post by Kurt_ »

Well I figured that I should have one thread for all of my silly little questions instead of spamming the forum like last time.

Question #2:

Which Pins are neccesary to solder for composite video and audio on the A/V out on the Mini?

------------------------------

Question #3:

With Vacuum forming can you vacuum form a 90° angle? Like a sharp corner.

------------------------------

Opinion #1 coming later today:

What Do you think about this layout?:

Where the AV multi jack used to be. (assuming you removed it) Hole two is composite video. I believe.

1 RGB - Red
2 RGB - Green
3 RGB - Composite Sync (CSYNC)
4 RGB - Blue
5 Ground
6 Ground
7 Luma - S-Video Y
8 Chroma - S-Video C
9 Composite Video
10 +5V
11 Left + Right Audio (Monaural)
12 Left - Right Audio (Used to calculate stereo)
So I'd only have to solder Pins 5/6, 9, 11, and 12 for composite video and sound right?

first of all, let me give you one of MY opinons. i dont like it when people edit the first post in a thread with completely new information. because it makes all the subsequent posts not make sense and be out of context.

lol. that aside, i think that your model should defiantely be reworked a little, for the following reasons

- your parts arent to scale. why mess with chance when you can just measure all your parts, then type those numbers into 3ds
- i have no idea what is what in that diagram, at least post a colour key or something
- .. is there only one speaker in that diagram?
- you need to account for more space inbetween things. it is not practical to just jam two circuit bards against each other, there has to be some reasonable distance inbetween, especially if they are not rigidly mounted. (and you cant let a battery rub against the back of a circuit bard, it may eventually get punctured... and release HF gas). as well, there seems to be a large chunk of unused space... unless this conforms to some strage case shape you are planning to use. its not symmertrical at any rate. overall i think you can rearrange the parts better.

i think you have a pretty decent design. you just didnt do a good job representing it in 3ds. :P
