Post by vb_master »

Hey I just found out (YTMND) that there is secret Windows XP Setup Music! It's in Windows/SYSTEM32/OOBE/IMAGES/TITLE.wma. Give it a listen, it's pretty good!

I heard it when I first turned on my Dell laptop and configered everything. It's like a SP2 only thing.

It's the background music for the after-install configuration screens (TCP/IP settings, set up user profiles, etc...)

It's definitely not SP2 only, My machine's SP1a and I found the file. (I don't like the placebo er I mean "security system" that comes in SP2)

Yeah, when you first install XP you get that Out of Box Experience configuration utility on first boot (the program that let's you activate/register Windows, setup user accounts, etc). If it was able to setup your soundcard, it plays that music.

And no, its not SP2 only.
I'd imagine right now you wish you were a cuttlefish...

Hah, Belive it or not I actually found it before all of you.
I have a Mp3 Player, its a Sony Walkman, and the Program you use to get music on (Sonic Stage), Takes all the Music off your computer and Onto the porgram, so you can listen to it Using sonicStage or put it on your Mp3 player.

and I was browsing through it one day, and BAM Im like Windows Music?
Hmm lets hear, and I liked it so, I added it on my Mp3 player about 2 Months ago.

I never thought about telling anyone.. eh.
