Switch Question

I need advice on what kind of switch to use (complete with crappy paint drawings)

I need a switch that will switch three lines of contact without converging them.

I need 9 in and 3 out, and it switching three contacts each time



as you have probably deduced this is for switching Audio/Video lines and please DO NOT suggest me buying one because i want to MAKE this

If you want to make one, get 3 SPTT (single pole, triple throw) switches. If you just want the simple way out, get an TPTT/3P3T switch like anotherperson suggests. Most likely, you'll find a slide switch with 3 positions that's a TPTT.

…and if that's not good enough for making one, you can use 3 paper clips, 12 paper fastners, a popsicle stick, and 3 thumbtacks. I won't explain the process unless you ask, since the resulting switch won't exactly produce perfect AV.

its alright ive come up with a way, i'll have a 3 pole side switch and a bunch of relays.

without the relays id need three switches

i think im acctually just gonna use the switches and just tape the three together, because the cost of the low amp relays id need comes to about £15 (around $30) so its not terrible cost effective

you could use MOSFETS. they draw no current, but they are powered by electricty XD

When I was around 5, I read a lot of books on electronics geared towards, well, 5-year-olds. They all had switches made of foam core, paper fasteners and paper clips, so I adapted it to what EJ wanted.
