Gaming for the handicapped

This could be a long story (depending on how fast you read) but I ws out mowing today and my arm started to hurt ( I had surgery on it when I was little) and I tought qhat would happen if I lost my arm. I thought it would be hard to play games, espcially the 360. Then I thought but the Wii could help my play games even though I'd be arm-less. Then I thought about DDR and how I could play that and I thought what about a DDR style NES pad that way people could still play if they'd be handicapped.

So I'm going to build a NES floor pad so you'll be able to play it. I'll post pictures of my ideas later.

The NES already has a first-party hands-free device.

Yeah actually there are many that play tfc. Including one person with no arms. I will get the website with all the videos...

I actually have a one handed PS1 controller here at home, I just don't use it.

A One-handed NES controller also exists, designed for RPG players who have to draw maps and stuff..

it could work, but not too well

me and my friends tried playing tekken with a DDR pad, the results wernt exacvtly spectacular

Well I don't know about consoles, but one computers you can have a keypad programed so you can use one hand effectively. First Person Shoots kind of already do that as you control camera angel with the mouse and everything else with the keyboard.

I DID have a one handed N64 controller, but I sold it. I wish I didn't.

You hold part of it in one hand, and another part on your wrist. When you tilt your wrist up down left or right, that would be the joystick. I think there was another joystick at your thumb.... and the buttons would be at your fingertips.

Anyone seen this? I can't find it anywhere.

ahh yes, the controller of wich you speak is the reality quest glove ! i had one too, but its was messed up and miscalibrated so i sold it for about what i i paid for it here is a pic of the psx version (n64 pics hard to find)

Nostromo speed pad has buttons controller by the index, ring, pinky and midddle finger (15 + a scroll wheel) and a Dpad+ button controlled by the thumb. Would be perfect for it.

You could always mod your own controller to be toe-playable.
