Jeffslot Mystery Portable

Hi guys,

I though I would give you a quick picture from my new mystery portable. It is truley a mystery, as I'm not sure what I'm making yet. But I though I would start with an led modded zenith (psone) screen.

I ran out of ribbon cable, so I ended up using the wires from inside a nes controller, they are nice colors, but kind of hard to use as they seem to be make out of crappy copper.

I konw it's ugly, but at least it's working!

Some ideas I have are to make a flashback2 (I think a cart mod would be a bit too hard for me)

or a 5-in game thingy I already have. Other possiblitlies would be an original SNES or Genesis ver 2.

Can someone show me where it is safe to cut the top of the screen motherboard? What is a good way to do that?

Hey, that screen is looking pretty good! Much improved from the first screen you modded.

If you're looking for good wire, why not grab an extra parallel/printer cable you have and slice it open? This is the wire I use for most of my projects. It comes in a wide range of colors, so you don't get them mixed up.

That stuff is undoubtley the best wire I can think of. You can get printer cables cheap (like 50 cents from garage sales or 2nd hand goods) and the wires are the smallest I have ever used. They're great for fitting in small holes in PCB's and fitting around corners and such. Not to mention they're color coded.
