It's pretty tolerant about it. The unit itself is actually made to run off 4 unregulated AA's (they go in the place where the memory card slot usually is on the N64 controller).

Super, I think you cut the voltage and ground lines going to the super joy. This diagram may help you. It's the basics for hooking up a hip gear and a super joy 3.

Yeah, I already have that diamgram.

Here's my own, using that, of what I'm going to do.

Things I NEED to know:

Will the battery fry it if I hook it up LIKE THAT.
Did I do it right?

Things you should know:
This is for hooking up to my TV, since I don't have a screen yet, and I really want to try it out!!
The video out thing, is the video/audio out ports from the superjoy III. The lead that leads to the inside thing goes to the composite video pin on the NOAC. The outside thing goes to ground.
The battery is an RC car battery.

well, ive never seen one of these, and i dont usually come to this forum... but i think a 7.2v battery would probably be bad for it. its more than 8v on a full charge, sounds risky. dont most people use a 7805?

also, perhaps try to take things more slowly and carefully.

IT STILL WON'T TURN ON!!!

I'm using 4 AA's this time. I pretty much used the diagram G-force posted, except instead of the screen, I'm using a video out port.

Will it turn on with no controller? Because I didn't wire the controller yet.

I'm gonna go try that.

Tried what I said, and still won't turn on. I used G-force's diagram exactly except I used a video out port instead of a screen, and put an on/off switch on the + battery wire.

Check all your connections. Make sure everything is touching. Also try new batteries.

New batteries didn't help.

I got an Intec PS2 controller screen thing, but it has only 8 pins... and only one row, unlike gforces diagram...

Does it still run with the wall adapter? Also, try just hooking up the battery, nothing else.
