pocket TV=composite?

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

pocket TV=composite?

Post by daguuy »

i have a little pocket TV that has pretty small low quality screen so i want to give it AV out jacks so i can use the TV tuner on my psone screen but it doesn't have any screw holes so before i try to open it and possibly brake it, i need to know if it uses composite video. do all pocket TVs use composite? mine's an FDL-PT22

If it dosent already, im guessing not. Mabye it does, and you have to look around on the board for it.

Look at the plug, does it have 2 pins (RF) or 3 pins (composite video and sound)? Also there will be a switch on the plug so that the pocket TV switches from the TV signal to input when a plug is inserted.

Then you would have to either find a spot on the LCD board that accepts composite, or use an RF to composite converter, but those are BIG things so it would be kinda pointless.

i just opened it, put a regluar screw driver into the seam between the front and back pieces and pry it open. from there you can unscrew the thing keping the speaker in place, and then you have to carefully pry the guts out of the casing. it's pretty difficult to do, mostly because i have no clue what im doing. once you get the front casing off, try to pry the guts out from the top (i stuck a pen between the casing and the guts and just pryed it out) try to get as many of the input jacks out of the way as you can first. i was wondering, is there ne where i could go to figure out what everything does? cuz now im just really confused now that i have everything out of the watchman.
