I'm gonna power my X portable (Snes
) with an RC car battery. But it'll be internal and I DO want to recharge it. So, can someone make a diagram that features a DPDT switch in which I can play off of wall when the unit is on, and charge when unit is off.

How about charge while you play off the wall?
From the bottom of a DPDT switch, it would look like:
Charge DC Power
Battery SNES
A A
You connect the A's together.

I'm sorry if I'm being a whiny piece of crap
, but maybe make one in Paint or something?
And we're talking 'bout a 6 pin DPDT switch, right? Thanks

This is the circuit I'm probably going to use in my N64:

Hmmm, which should I follow, I'm going with Steelfox's? Seeing it got more nods, and what kind of diode should I use.

Silly yytu, I'm using fans in my portable, and the charger is going to be the actual RC charger, making a smart board, not charging when not required...so, I just need to know about the diode

Thanks, and I'm basing this on my actions, play or charge, not both.

Sorry for double post...errr, pressed submit twice, but I'll make light of this one, I was wondering if there was a link to something from Radio Shack, seeing I'm buying with the gift card I got from there...thanks.

I'd recommend against using SteelFox15's circuit. Here's the one I designed last year, no clue if it'll work right or not though. Probably would be better to use an auto-switching dc jack and a real battery charging IC

I'm getting pissed at myself for double posting, but I have a tiny update.
On that page, this is the diagram.
The part that says '- (negative) to PC board...like what PC board, check all of your books peoples!

Just any ground on the screen or main board. If you have a charger already it's easiest to just go that route like the book does.
