iPod hard drive corruption

sounds like its physically damaged. send it in to apple for a replacement?

Why not try this:

1) Slap your friend across the face for buying an ipod. They're made to fail after a year or two, regardless of how well you care for them.

2) Slap him again.

3) Go buy him a Creative Zen or something.

But that's just me.

(Seriously though, have you tried a magnet? Would that even work?)

I've had a friend with a problem like that, his warrenty was void also. He just had to chunk it. Give him some advice - GET A CREATIVE ZEN VISION M! Cheers~

the flash memory needs a higher voltage to be able to be erased/written to. that appears to just be a 5v USB power plug, it would be the same as using the one on your computer (without the data lines of course).

you probably have to fork over for a real charger, thats how apple operates
