NES Portable progress (Now with pictures!)

Post by bioniclebert »

Holy crap I'm making yet ANOTHER nes portable!
This is more of a little speculation thread, as I'm not releasing all the details at the moment. The ONLY thing (and I mean ONLY) that I need left is a screen. All I have to do is pop it in place and it's all done.
The case- done
The batteries- done
the wiring- done
This is by far my favorite NES portable I've ever made. Shure it's big because it uses a NES mobo and a PSone screen, but I like it.

Features released as of 6/15/06:
Uses NES mobo, no pirates
5" psone screen
7.2V 3000mAh battery
Has a really cool name that I wont release until I buy the Psone screen.
SO IF YOU HAVE A PSONE SCREEN, I NEED ONE! (WINK WINK NUDGE NUDGE)

The only problem is, I need a PSONE screen only. And by that I mean the portable will only fit if it is a psone screen, not a 3rd party. SO if you have one, I'd be willing to trade. (I can only buy it if it's listed on ebay)

No screen yet, but I got a name.

The name is probably the most significant part of the portable.
Taken from Willy beamish, I call it:
The Nintari.

Shouldn't you call it a nesameboy or something? It has nothing to do with atari. :? :P sounds cool, but you need a better name :P I like smileys :) maybe you should call it a SuperD-Pad 1 :D

Dang it I have to STOP MAKING NES PORTABLES!!
I'm making another NES portable. I'm talkin' about another one besides the nintari. I bought a hipgear screen from ebay, so the next NOAC portable of mine should be done sometime next week after I get my package in the mail (Lots of packages from the holiday, says the local post office.)

No pictures, though possibly If I get them up, they would be NEWS section, and also in the Trading post. (dont make offers till ya see it.)

As for the nintari, I needs a psone screen. Those arent as cheap as hipgears at the moment, so I'l hang on to the nintari until I get a screen.

The things it needs:
A bit of bondo on some corners
another coat of blue paint (grey areas will be blue too)
the hip gear screen
4 AA battery holders

And thats it! This is the one that might be for sale, too. It depends if it turns out good, and If It functions 100% (I'd bet on it)

mmmm. that blue one looketh good, indeed. I was seriously thinking of something very simmilar, so you may be getting some competition soon, dude! BTW, it seems both of us are doing stuff similar to All4Sky's portable, hmmm? Thats ok, his was cool, and I only hope that both of ours will be just as cool as his.

Yeah, hopefully in the future I will get better with bondo. The bondo around the controller dosen't look as smooth as I thought it would, but it was the first thing I ever tried to bondo together. Ah well.

As for design, mine will look a lot like his, but the hip gear controls may be located on the top of the case, as well as AV Out. Also, the batteries will be on the sides, 4 AAs total. Today I'm cutting out the hole for the screen to be a perfect fit (Using a dead hipgear as measurement) and then installing the battery holders. Then all I have to do is wire up video and audio to the screen/amp and then put it into its place. Add a bit of paint, and then add a new controller sticker, and its set. Due to all the work I did pre-screen, it should be done the day of, or day after the screen arrives. Then it's on sale. :D
