Actually, Cart slot relocation is infinitely easier with nothing attatched to the mobo.minkster wrote:First get it running off batteries before you relocate the cartridge slot.

It took me 45 minutes to relocate my first SNES cart slot. Now it takes ~30 minutes.
Good luck with the relocation. Just keep things methodical and double check as you go, it would suck to have to redo it.

I think he means make sure you can have it working as a portable before doing anything else so that when you DO relocate the cart slot (with nothing attached to it at the time) it cuts down your problem shooting if something isn't connected right.Klefmung wrote:Actually, Cart slot relocation is infinitely easier with nothing attatched to the mobo.minkster wrote:First get it running off batteries before you relocate the cartridge slot.

Mine took about 2 hours because the wires were junky and the soldering irons tip only gets solder stuck on about 1/4 of the whole tip. It also has an indent (I dont know HOW you indent the tip) on the little sliver that still holds solder. So I'd say just make shure you have good materials, and you should be set. Also make shure that the connections are clean; it will save you a lot of time of fixing problems. (exactly what turbotax said. It might take a bit of time, but it's definatley worth it)

I haven't done any relocation, but I'm assuming it would take about 50 min to an hour for me, based on my current skillz. Heh, i'm just going to go the easy route with Moose Jr's method in my N64p.Skyone wrote:Phew, you're one slow ass solderer.Triton wrote:its not hard, but expect to take a few hours to solder all those pins
