Homemade Projector

Since NiN^_^NiN used a 7 inch screen, and thats how big my DVD player screen is, maybe I will do this. It will cost $50 for the overhead, and I already have a screen and Halo parties will always be at my house.

Heres what you get when you spend a little money. Stolen from my post in my other thread.

Ok here is the moment you have all been waiting for (for real this time )

The picks of my 99% completed PJ (99% because it will never be truly done, I will always be tweaking it ^.^)!!!!

For some reason the nightmode on my camera makes the images look more orange than they really are, but it's the only way yo get a good representation of the brightness.

The picture looks 100x better in real life but this is the best my camera can do.

Ok, #1.

Heres the back of the PJ, you can see the power distrabution node (aka the lightswitches) on the back and you can also see the platform it's sitting on.

Heres the side of the PJ, you can see the VGA cable and that LCDs control panel here.

Here is the focus ring, it lets me make minute ajustments to the sharpness.

Here is my lovely screen, it is made from blackout cloth and incresses the brightness and clarity of my image two fold compaired to a normal white wall, not as good as a $200 commercial screen but not bad for $50 CAD.

Best image ive watched on the PJ, turn the base up real high and you can just feel that first breath right down to your bones.

A very orange image of The Increadibles, the night setting on my camera really effts up the colors. In person the suits look very red.

Frodo, images still really freaking orange.

Yah, I used the Lumenlab guide. I was gonna buy the bulb from them but we actually had a supplyer here (and thats kinda odd seeing as i'm not in the bigist city in the world). I did however get the lenses from lumenlab.

I think I'll do the poor man's way, with an overhead and 7 inch LCD. My parents wouldn't loan me $300-500.

You can get working overheads for like 1$ + around 20-25$ shipping if you search on ebay. not many people want them.

Would a 5" screen work by any chance? it's the big boxey intec ps1 screen.

If you stripped the screen down to the LCD and controller board, it should.

With a 5" LCD you get up too around a 54" screen size.

Probobly, An overhead is rather overkill lol. A small halogen with a large peice of heat glass inbetween the LCD and the light.

What are good stats to look for in a projector? Size and lumens etc.
