Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

Good Genesis games

Post by CronoTriggerfan »

I'm finally starting to get into the Genesis, and I may consider portablizing it. However, I've only got Sonic games! What are some good, CHEAP Genesis games that aren't Sonic or Gunstar Heroes? Also, I really like RPGs if you haven't noticed, so are there any good ones besides Shining Force/Heroes?

Also, are there any sim/RPG-style Genesis games, like Harvest Moon or Dogz? My sister likes those kinda games, and I may be getting a Gp for her...

Thanks,
CTFan

Phantasy Star III is my favorite game other than any Sonic game.

I love Zoop. Lotus II is a good racing game also; you can make your own tracks.

If you like streets of rage then get streets of rage 2. Just as good, if not slightly better.

If you like platformers then i would strongly suggest picking up a copy of kid chameleon (sp). It is brilliant, Has a few borrowed ideas from mario but it is still very origional and very good.

Word of warning though:

It is VERY difficult
It is VERY long (about same level count as SMW i would say, many secret levels)
It has NO save features at all.

Think, 5 hours to get to the last set of levels (if you didn't go the wrong way and hit the hardest wall chase level of them all) and no save feature (no passwords or level select either).

I liked all of the Phantasy Stars I played, I've heard 4 was supposed to be the best, but I haven't gotten my hands on that one yet. I could test-drive the ROM, but that's illegal  and I'm busy with other things.

Any of the AD&D 16 bit games are worht playing, especially if you're familair with the rule set.

I neglected to mention before how awesome Scooby Doo Mystery is. Apparently there is also a game that's almost exactly like Zelda as well called Crusader of Centy.
