trouble shooting, please help!!

ok so im all done with my n64p except when I went to test it, everything but video worked. I get a bright white screen sometimes with lines but they go away after a second or two. i get audio blah blah, ok so I decided to solder a wire to the 5v pin on the back of the screen and that didnt work. i checked my video's connection with a multimeter and I got 0.02 v, audio gets around 2.45v, now sometimes sound doesnt work but when i test VIDEO with my mulimeter, sound magically works! could it be my ground connection or what could it be? by the way i know everything else such as buttons or whatever works, I was able to sort of play a game only by sounds and heard each sound from all the buttons. so can anyone help? ill answer any questions you have.

if anyone wants pictures also, i can get some close ups of my connections.

what ribbon cable?

The one going from the screen PCB to the actual screen itself. If not properly plugged in, it can cause the screen to be white.

oh, yeah thats plugged in correctly, but by bright white I ment its really just a black screen being lit up by the backlight. I get everything but video. audio works.

could I somehow have fried the video on the mother board? but not audio?

edit: whoops, didnt realize I was double posting...sorry...

ok ive figured out the problem, the video is not getting any power at all on the screen, i even took the pcb out and tested the little things on the screen, i only get 0.1/0.2 volts when it should get around 1.5 - 2.5 volts, now the problem is fixing this. how can I fix this problem of video not getting enough power?

the video/audio is powered by the 7805 on the board so thats fine, now trace the path of the video backwards from the port to the 7805 see if there are any briges dry connections etc.

Tried it, doesnt work. Im just gonna get a new screen.

I can take out the little pcb things from the screen and put them in a new screen without harming the new screen, that is, if it was only the old screens fault, corrent?

If it didn't work on a TV, then it is the N64 Mobo
