couldnt decide if this belonged in case or screen so here:

If you were to take a Memorex 5'' TFT Moniter Portable DVD player (MM-5000)

could you gut out the insides (except for the screen itself)
and use the case as your handheld? then just put holes for the buttons and get the screen atached to the (to be) handheld?
it would work good with a sony or dreamcast portable im geussing
or a NOAC if you cut into the case itself...

Hrm, unlikely. If the DVD player has video-in (couldn't find that one online), it probably goes through the main board, so you'd need to leave in the better part of the guts. Though a portable nes with DVD capability wouldn't be all that bad.
