Resolution.. AHH!

Post by Sword_Gun »

Hey, I didnt have enough space on my screen for my start programs (no more programs would fit in the all programs menu.)

So i turned my resolution down one notch (to make the screen bigger, I had my resolution all way pointed to LEFT, So i turned it 1 to the right)

and I couldnt read anything once I did that, So i turned it back.

Now. Im missing part of my screen

My start menu is partyly cut off, file says ile

and Done says one.

Any help?

Sounds like the graphics card didn't center the image correctly.

If your graphics card software lets you re-center the image, try that. If not, reboot and it should be fine.

If your using 640*480 or 800*600 yyou should turn it up. just get used to reading it. Either that or you have very poor eyes.

cant you just use the buttons on your monitor to reposition the image? or is it like a really old one/LCD?

lol wow you must have a big screen/nice gfx card. My max resolution is 1280x1024, dunno if my screen(19 inch lcd) or my gfx card(6600GT overclocked) is the one limiting the size(I have a feeling it's my card, although my screen's native resolution is 1280x1024 I think it can go higher)

But yeah, what do you have it on? You really should have it on at least 1024x768, even my old 400mhz amd computer is running that. If your computer can't run that... well you need a new computer :P

If your screen has a native resolution, then its a TFT, it can't change the size of pixels like a CRT can so thats the maximum you can go.

My parents make me use 600X400 because they have crappy eyes and don't know how to change it themselves.

Right, I have the same monitor on another computer, turning up the res past 1280x1024 causes the desktop to go past the screen's size. You have to scroll to move around the whole desktop. :|
