It stands for Virtual Network Computing, and you can use it to connect to any computer, whether it be on your network or elsewhere via the interweb, 
and pretty much do anything you can do when you're actually at it from a different computer. It takes like... 30 seconds to set up (really) and it displays whatever is on the computer you're connected to (called the "server"), in a window (or you can fullscreen it) on the computer you're connecting from (called the "client"). Keyboard and mouse actions also transfer over to it, of course. (Otherwise I couldn't physically be typing this.) It's kinda like that GoToMyPC thing that they advertise on TV all the time... but free.I've actually known about this program and programs like it for a while, but I never truely realized the possibilities... You guys should check it out. It's quite fun to use, even if you're just playing around with it. (Like me.) I hope this doesn't cross the spam line, I just wanted to share this awesomeness with you guys.
