To people who bult the snes in the book...i have a question
how much did it cost about?
i know it may vary slightly for me but i just want a rough estimate.
That way i know how much to save up.
by the book i mean not the cnc cut one...the one with the 5'' sony screen
edit : i have not seen the book in stores for over 9months

they are?CronoTriggerfan wrote:Prerequisite is a good thing. Anyways, Ben says it'll be about $200; I actually highly recommend staying the heck away from Ben's hand-built portables; they make things WAY harder than they need to be.

Yeah, its pretty difficult to do one of his cases; I don't know how he does it so easily! Mine cost about 110 bucks doing it from the book, but it could have easily cost more than that. Take CronoTriggerfan's advice and make your own case, it'll save you lots of grief.

I'd try amazon to get the book, it really will answer a lot of these questions and give you enough knowledge to try your designing your own case. If you use a yard-sale regular size SNES that you pick up for a couple bucks you can save the $50 or so that the mini ones cost at the expense of shorter battery life and a larger portable. I'm practicing my soldering/cart slot relocation skills on a full size SNES that I picked up for 100 yen (under a buck).
