Starting GCp

The box will be a stained wood box. The Gcp will use a Psone screen and will be fashioned after the GBA SP. Right now I'm working re-wiring the disc drive. I already have a nice Li-Po battery; it's 11.1vdc and 4A. I'll have the Psone screen in about 3 weeks and the box will be done within a week or so. I'll show pictures when I have the box done. There's really no sense in taking pictures of a bare naked gamecube.

I found a site that have li-poly and chargers that fit those specs. Becautious when working with li-poly. they can and do EXPLODE, if charged or discharged improperly.

11.1V might not be enough to power the GC, though

....perhaps when fully charged, but when the voltage drops to 11.1V I don't know if the converter will work

Becautious when working with li-poly. they can and do EXPLODE, if charged or discharged improperly.

P.S make sure they have a protection circuit (if one isn't already integrated in the battery).

not sure which is better so... I won't decide.

So if you have the saftey PCB and safe charging, Li-ions/polymers should be pretty safe.

Could I create my own dc-dc converter for the GC so i can use the li-po? If not then ill just use it for a nintendo 64

12V, normally, though mine's at 14.8.....once again, I'm not sure if it can go lower than 12V.

I switched the battery to a lithium ion laptop battery. its 14.8v. I took off the safe charger circuit thingy because i didnt know how to use it. when i plug the batteries into the gc they don't work. i think it has something to do w/ that really tiny board on the bottom of the gc. is there any place where i could get a new one?

Here's a link to a GC power regulator for you.

Do you have a multimeter or something to measure voltage with? If so, make sure you have voltage going into the regulator board and see if you have the correct voltages coming out. Do this before buying a new regulator board.

well what happens is my battery works when it isnt plugged into the gc regulator. if it's plugged into anything else its fine.
