We'll just have to wait and see what happens…

Problem is that I don't want to wait now that I've heard this news! Ah well, new portables coming up to satisfy my mind for awhile…

Edit: this is what…the third time?

I dunno. That GC portable Gamey made was pretty sweet looking.

Currently I am leaning away from a PSone screen though.

I've been meaning to ask you about this one; are the screens from this other site THAT much nicer than a PSOne display? To me, (and many others here,) the PSOne screen is a nice, cost-efficient screen (not to mention an easy hack.) I've also noticed your lack of interest in the pocket TV screen...

In my humble opinion, the PSOne screen has many merits for gamecube. Easy composite output. Good power consumption per size. You can actually play it well enough with the size. The size is important in current generation. A pocket TV or those screens you used in the phoenix seem too small for a current gen console. Also, the PSOne screen is an EXCELLENT TFT screen. It also costs about 1/5 of those 7" screens you see at those places like radio shack and best buy.

Well I agree the PSone screen kicks ass. I mean it can do it all! RGB, S-video, composite. And CHEAP!

But the drawback IS its size. It basically makes your whole portable X-amount larger by using it.

At the moment I'm thinking 3.5" AEI screen for my GCp. The best thing about those is they're OEM, thus no modding. Built-in LED backlighting. Pure and clean screen modules.

It's good to have other screen options open as well. Sooner or later all the PSone screens will have been modded and used by us!

But would a 3.5" screen be good to bring out the Gamecube's... lemme think of a word for this... complexity? 5" seems like a minimum for this.

Hey, if I can pwn Hydrodynamo Station on a 2" passive-matrix pocket TV over RF (and I am no means a master of Echoes), a 3.5" screen will work just fine.

@Klefmung: I've got nothing on Yoshi…

Well I know my eyes are very very bad I mean very very very bad and the PSone LCD is very easy on my eyes

The fact that they aZre dirt cheap on eBay and in the paper and used game stores (see where I am going here) is also very convient (that is what sold me)

Also less we forget one final ting that is crucial to portables...with even the 6 LED mods pioneered by usbcd36 (which looks very nice by the way) IT DRAWS PRATICALLY NO POWER!!! granted I cannot speak for the other but for a five inch LCD with a great display...seems pretty triffle to me

I have spoken ...deal with it
I refuse to dignify myself with an intelligent and witty signature

Um…

It draws at least 500 mA, which isn't exactly "no power".

For the normal LED mod, yes. For my special 6 LED mod, it draws 500 mA. I would know; I made it.
