Cisco CCNA Exam

Post by Kurt_ »

Well I know all you americans are out. I'll be having my computers exam in a few weeks, and I HATE this course. The course description was really misleading. I thought it'd be more of a hardware course, looking at computer guts and such. Instead, we learn how routers and such works, in case we ever want to become a router. It's dumb.

Anyways, does anybody have access to the exam? It doesn't change.

in the UK we get 6 weeks for summer (if were lucky) july-september

luckily im leaving this year so i get 15 weeks instead

My IT exam was so blindly easy, most of the stuff just comes naturally to me, but then again im a nerd

we got questions like "why cant you put a 1.5Mb file on a floppy disk?"

hmmm i might have to think about that one

but the course was 60% coursework anyway

Well the first 2 questions on the unit 9 test i kinda stole (he gave us the file but with a password. like a password's gonna stop me.) are these:
1) What steps must occur for devices to communicate between different physical network segments? (Choose two.)

learning the IP address of the source device

obtaining the MAC address of the intermediate device

transferring the data packets from one network segment to another to reach the destination host

obtaining the IP address of the local host

2) What should a system administrator consider when assigning an IP address to a network server? (Choose two.)

Servers should have addresses assigned dynamically through a DHCP.

Servers with a dynamically assigned IP address would be difficult to locate on a network.

Servers with periodically changed IP addresses have little effect on a network.

Servers should have IP addresses assigned statically by a network system administrator.

Well, you can, you just need file splitter and two floppies or make two trips between the computers. Or maybe compress the file.

Cisco Networking is an easy course, I did 4 semesters in 1.5 :P
I never took the CCNA exam though, I don't feel like driving for an hour and paying $120+ just to get a certification.
Also, I don't get out until June 8th

It's an easy course...if you care to read all those modules. I, however, don't have the attention span. I'll read everything but I'll drift into thought and miss entire sections of information.

You can compress it, and there are floppies larger that 1.44MB.

I know, but if you compress it, it won't be 1.5MB anymore :P....and we're talking about standard floppies anyway, right?!? well...ones with less than 1.5MB capacity :P...
