Well good for the animals scientists have been able to create fake meat. At the moment it looks like red jelly and tastes horible but it contains all the appropreate minerals and is chemicly is identicle to beef and also smells the same as real meat cooked or raw.

They say that they should have all the bugs worked out by 2015 and full on production of "fake meat" by 2020.

The article was on Slashfood but I can't for the love of it find it.

There was something about fake meat in popular science.

PS: could someone PM me the cover pic of the april 2006 issue of popsci? I don't think I got it, but I'm not sure.

yeah man this movie made me so sad, just made me sick, the guys were laughing while they were clubbing the pigs dead.so like, things are bad. the answer is more money into places like the fda, so like they can check the places, and where stuff comes from, and like funding to vets and stuff for vaccinating stuff, now ait the anithesiac, yeah that stuff. for the humaine killing of the cattle and stuffffff.

Your right I took it out of context, and your completely right about worrying about other humans first, but animals still shouldn't be ignored--just bringing their conditions to light.

Okay so I think thats not really right, I think animal cruelity is even worse than things like slavery. Thinka bout it, slaves had to have had at least some understanding of why they are being made to do such things, they knew at least to some extent that their owners or whatever were doing it for a gain, animals can't understand that. Animals don't understand why they are being caged, or why we are killing them and crap. It's just not right.

And yeah, I agree with you about the communism/socialism thing, it is a very good idea on paper, and personally wish more of the world was like that. Democrats and others say that something like communism isn't a good idea, because no matter how hard you try, you still only make as much as the next guy. While that is true, the ones who are smart and work hard, are the ones who are taking care of the weak people. In a communist society(that wasn't ruled by corrupt politicians) there would be no hunger or strife. I personally adopt my own ideology, something between communism and democracy. The country should be run by it's people, not by one person as in a monarchy, but there should also be more help for the poor and weak people. A sort of semi-communist society, were there still is competition and working harder does net you more cash, but there is a limit to the money you get paid. Sort of like minimum wage, but more so.

well to get this back on topic. read the book "the jungle" by upton sinclair, its about the meat packing industry in chicago in i think the early 1900s, after this book was written there was MASSIVE change in the way the industry worked, read it and reasearch the history of it, pretty interesting stuff.
