I bought one of the Super Joy 3 pads (thought i got a deal at 34 bucks) and i have played around with it. I am deciding to try and make the nesp. But I have found i have a different board than what came in the one on this site. Mine is set up as follows

Shield it, look at RadioShack or just about any electronics store for it. It goes around the wiring (like a sleeve), it should cut the interferance down and improve the signal.

That diagram is sort of confusing. If I read it correctly, I get the following...
This is the pin out of a NES controller port.

First Controller:
Ground to 1
Red (P1 Clock) to 2
Orange (Strobe) to 3
Yellow (P1 D0) to 4
+5 V to 5
Second Controller: (all the above plus)
Purple (P2 D3) to 6
Blue to (P2 D4) to7

I just got mine up and running. Note to any other Newbies. Don't try to wire to the controller that came with the system (i tried that so I would still have a controller if it didn't work out) Wire directly to the main board . The diagram is right the pinout guest gives is wrong or at least it didnt' work for me. Here is what I have wired up
1-+5 white
2-yellow from controller
3-red
6-orange
10-ground brown
11-video
12-audio
I don't have the second controller connected (I'm going to use their adapter for second player). I'm also running it of a 3V adapter and it is working fine. I included what was what because i wasn't sure what was "ground" etc. A problem I had also was I was trying to wire using the ribbon off the NOAC part and I didn't realize several of the connections off the board broke (another source of error). Use scrap wire to "pigtail" off the board so you can twist your connections together to test for continuity. Sound on mine is good (needs shielding)
I'm going to portabilize it but have the controller on a cord and connect it and house a pocket tv so I can prop it up and play it (not a hand held just hella portable).
This is gonna be so cool at school ( I'm a med student and my classmates are all my age,24+, so they remember the old days.) I don't have plans for a cart connector yet (I don't have many carts laying around).

Another good bit of info, if you don't want to wire your own nes to famiclone converter you can buy one http://store.yahoo.com/videogamesdepo/nesnintofamc.html I don't know they work i just found it after a little searching and thought it might add to the cause......
Keep in mind there are different SuperJoys, the one I posted from PoD works with the SPJ3. I dont think that if you buy the same model you'll have the problem of the pinout not working, those things are machine etched and to change that will cost money, something I doubt they want to part with.SNESguy wrote:That pinout from PoD is not always correct. It did not work for mine. Ben has several pinouts to choose from, I ended up using one that was the same as his.
