Two questions: Memory card slot and tact switches
First question, is it worth all of the trouble to incorporate a memory card slot (you know, the one on the bottom of all the controllers) into the portable? The only things I've seen it used for are memory cards and rumble packs. But is the memory card ever even necessary? Over all the years I had an N64, I remeber needing a memory card only once, though I can't remember which game. Does anyone know of any games where I might need it?
Second question, is it better to use tact switches for the buttons or relocate part of the controller PCB to wire up the buttons? I feel like it would be easier with tact switches, since it doesn't involve precise placement of the PCB, but would the clicking each time you press a button get annoying after a while? Thoughts? Opinions?
Thanks.

1. depends the pokemon stadium games use the cart as well
2. I personally like the clicking (I don't know why) guess it is relative , but if you plan to relocated the original rocker panels just run a screw though the groundikng strip or hot glu it to the case...Thant is all I can help you with

I refuse to dignify myself with an intelligent and witty signature
I was doing that, but it turned out to be too hard for my soldering skills, so I'm soldering the slot in and I'll just put the card in without its case.timmeh87 wrote:instead of having an external slot, some people just hardwire a memory card into the portable. its not hard and it takes up almost no space
