Reviving a Hip Gear Screen Pad?

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Reviving a Hip Gear Screen Pad?

Post by Dark Savant0 »

Okay, I have had this Hip Gear Screen Pad sitting in my project box for around a little less than a year. I kinda want to put it to use, otherwise it was a waste of money. :P

So here is what I would like to know.

- Which wire goes where?
- Power Drainage? How many batteries would run ONLY the Hip Gear Screen?
- If I wanted to make it so I could plug in other items to the Hip Gear Screen, then what kind of wire (read: gauge) would be needed? Part number for connections?
- Since I kind of want this to be a portable screen (read: not connected directly to any system), where can I connect the ground?

If anyone could help, I would appreciate it.

The yellow wire going under the screen is video. That is all I remember. Experiment with the rest like I did. I had it hooked up to the psone video using a Sony AV cord. (I used a AV coupler.) I then experimented one wire by another until I found it. I took out the video, but the ground was still connected through the audio. So I touched the video to each individual wire. (which I found to be the yellow one.) Then I unhooked the ground from the other and touched it to each one until I saw something. Experiment like that. And it will run off of 5v to like, 8v if I remember correctly with really low power consumption if you take off the other PCB and just use the main screen board. And you can only do that if you LED mod it.
