I nearly destroyed my brand new phone

I bought a 6280 and i love it. but i wanted to use it as my music player so i bought a 2gb minisd card for it and i have been using it for music...until today when i decided it would be better if it had a 3.5mm jack, i tried to attach one to the headset, i have no idea what happened but it wouldnt work. i wanted to check it was outputting stereo so i took it to my comp, plugged it in and got a "the usb device is malfunbctioning" error, i was soooo scared, i restarted the phone and the comp and it still happened. I went to another comp and it did it again, by this point i was REALLY PANNICING! i restarted the phone again and it was fine! PHEW lucky day i guess...

anyone else had any close calls like that?

my PDA screen smashed once. It still turns on so it's not completely broken... just can't tap it, nothing happens

edit:

close call: My Windows 98 computeer stopped working. I installed linux. problem solved. It was close to never turning on again, but now it works fine and in fact I am typing this message with it. Closest thing I can think of to a closee call right now, other than maybee something running out of batteries and me thinking it's broken.

my cell phone related accident was when i was driving my car and my cell phone fell out the window so i went in revers to get it and ran over it. then i realized i don't have a cell phone or a car. wierd. must have been a dream or something.

I had a very scary instance once with my computer (the one I use now), which at the time was about a week old. I had just finished installing cold cathode lights in it, and I noticed that the bay A hard drive was not pushed into place properly, so I realigned it and thought nothing of the problem. Unfortunately, when I started it up, it acted strangely for awhile, in which time I finished the project that the cathodes were for. Then I saved and quit. At this time, I figured restarting was not a bad idea (usually fixes the "computer acting strangely" ones), so I did, but then I got the dreaded Kernel Panic on startup, apparently because I jarred the hard drive. No idea as to why jiggling a powered-down hard drive killed data, but oh wellâ€¦ Normally, I would have just erased it (computer was NOT recognizing HD), and gone on, but the project was worth 1/4 of my grade, so I wasn't about to do that without backups. Took all night to repair my hard drive, get the project backed up (it was the only thing that I actually needed, as the computer was very new), and erased. In order to do that, I connected my old computer, put the new one in target mode (which turns it into a Firewire enclosure), and ran Norton on the drive. It worked enough that I could repair further with Disk Utility and make a backup image file. From there, I erased and reinstalled, then grabbed files off of the image. When it was all over, I had to go back to bed. Most nerve wracking sunday/monday of my LIFE!

Lol, yeah. Scared me with my brand new wireless USB adapter (later I found out that that adapter was a POS)

Does anyone remember that report about portabalzing I had to do for an LA class? Anyways, I was typing that on a Linux laptop. When I was about 3/4 done, I decided "hey, lets install a Win 98 dual boot on this thing".

Long story short, I had trashed the Linux boot and had to install from my CDs again. Still, the system didn't work right but I was able to boot in and backup my report to a floppy.
