I gonna get a DS!

i almost have internet working on my gp2x. i can get windows to see its conencted and i can telnet it and everythign but i havent got a browser working yet, got to fiddle with the settings some more, its murder on batteries

Dude... It's like you read my mind and stole my exact same reasons for buying a DS. PSP just is too expensive, delicate, and the games are the exact same thing as you play on PS2 just with downgraded graphics and missing an analog stick. And I just don't care about the movie/Mp3 options, I'd never use any of it. It just feels like I would be buying a PS2 all over again.

GP2X...Eh. I've already played all the older games, I want new stuff. And if I do want to play older games I'll just build a portable and skip all the bugs emulation brings.

DS is cheaper and has (for the most part) pretty original, entertaining games. That is all I ask for in a game system.

DS games I would reccomend:
Sonic Rush - First couple levels are kinda boring but after that it's great.
Mario kart - Just plain fun.
Metroid Prime Hunters - Single player kinda sucks, but online and bot multi-player rock. Think Unreal Tournament portable. The stylus acts just like a mouse.
Brain Age - only $20 too! Forget the real game though (it gets old rather fast), sudoku is the real game hidden inside the game. It's extremely addictive and fun.

Oddly those are all my games and I would reccomend every one.

To add to G-force's list:

Kirby Canvas Curse. This game is such sweet fun, and doesn't use the DS's buttons... at all! It's totally touch screen.

And I have to second Brain Age. This game is really great. The Sudoku is really addictive as well as the other brain-strengthening challenges. And at $20 it's a steal! And bonus points for the easter egg that causes the doctor to cry when you say "microsoft" into the microphone.

Tetris DS. I thought it was going to just be another port of tetris to the bajillionth system, but this thing is so much more! However, I recommend finding a used copy as the price for a new one is a bit too high for tetris...

why is it everyone thinks that the gp2x only does emulators? IT HAS LOTS OF GOOD HOMEBREW NOT JUST EMULATORS and its far better than psp, and cheaper. an wtf is VNC? my gp2x can do webserver, samba and telnet/ftp over rndis usb ethernet out of the box with firmware 2.0, getting a browser to work isnt very hard
