i looked far and wide for a cable that has 20 or so wires (20-22gauge) inside a 1/4" overall thickness. it can be a tad larger. but i just cant find a place that has something i can use. that and, i dont know a good way to explain it, but the things that make it so yanking out the cord is next to impossible. its glued to the cable, and is slit so that half of it is inside some sort of enclosure and half of it is not. if you have an xbox, look at the controller cord where the cord meets the controller. kinda like that.
anywho, any help would be AWESOME. its for an ipod project i need.

thanks.
thanks for giving me a term for what i was thinking. strain releif. as for the cable, i think i am going to use a few lengths of cat5 cable, cutting the outside lengthwise and then putting a braided mesh around that. i think that should do fine. i measured my rounded floppy cable, but that was a little to big, perfect in every other respect though. maybe their is another rounded floppy that is thinner then that one.
