easy question (once more...)

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

easy question (once more...)

Post by geekbait111 »

hmmm... as some of you may know, I have an official PSone screen and an Intec PSone screen. Other than the size, can someone compare them (which is better picture wise, as if one is blurry or not).
I'm wondering because I might prolong an RGB color and use RCA cables for a while (intec has AV in :D ).
-Thanks!
PS. The reason why I can't do this is I'm confuzed how to turn on the official PSone screen :? :?

To turn on the official screen you just hook 7.2-9v up to it.

Aah... that would make sense because I must have (lol) taped (not soldered) bad... Tape is a bad replacment for solder, though it can work... My soldering skills... well lets just say they're "special" :D .

-Anyway with my new RCA cables I used em on my TV, then my intec screen while playing pitfall :D . It was super blurry on the intec screen... imagine what would happen on sonic  .

-so my new question is: is the official PSOne screen blurry?

-thankies!

Alligator clips are a nice tepmorary substitute for soldering, I suggest investing in some if you don't have any. The official screen hardly blurs at all, I can't compare it to the intec though because I don't have one.

ok, well my sister's friend is gonna help me, he once installed a fan into an xbox :D , so he has soldering skills. He also fixes laptops, etc.

But ok, I assume the PSone screen is much better than intec, since the intec blurs so much, and you say it's pretty good.

-Thanks!

There were fingerprints and smudges ALL OVER the psone screen I got used. I turned it on and they were gone. Such a good picture, it overwrites smudges. >_>

psone screen is tft, it doesn't blur and is high quality. i ahve heard that some other 3rd party screens are even higher quality but since intec is apparently blurry, use the psone screen

okeydokey, I didn't know the PSone screen was that good quality,
I'll probably do soldering in... 1/2 a month :( . Because my sister's freind is moving, not far away, but he's going to college around 3 monthes and he's leaving his parents (for a while anyway).
thankies all!

P.S should I have a cover for the LCD, the one that comes with it?

they're both the exact same thing, just sold under different companies is all....

The mobo is exactly the same, save for a cap or too to clean up the 5V line....I haven't noticed any blurry picture on the Intec. Perhaps on the old gamecube screens it was, but not the "psone" versions.
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

PSOne has AV in. Just use the mini AV jack right above the headphone jack.
