Yay! It's my birthday! :P

Post by Electric Rain »

Well, technically. It's 6:20 AM here, and I have yet to go to bed. So... today, the 18th, is actually my birthday. But, I got some early birthday presents yesterday! (Meaning the 17th.. though to me it's still the 17th...) I asked my father, who lives a few states away (mother divorced from father, remarried, I live with my stepfather, mother and brother, father lives with his wife and their daughter, father in Coast Guard, gets moved around a lot, constantly a few/several states away) for some things from NewEgg. I didn't expect them, as it was $300 worth of stuff (with tax and shipping, that is) and he NEVER comes through with gifts/money/anything with value. I really didn't expect this to be any different, but sure enough, I actually received the package two days later! It's a long story... the deal with him... But let me sum up in one sentence: My father's a cheapskate.

Anyway, my family here is in a bit of a money... thing... most of you know how it is. But, that's nothing new, really. So, I probably won't get much for my actual birthday, since I bug the **** out of my mother before she finally let me open the box a day early. (I already knew what all of it was! Come on now.) But, I'll probably get some more things spaced out over the next week or so as we get the money. Kinda like Hanukkah, 'cept probably better. :P Anyway, the stuff I got from NewEgg:

PPA Int'l 3.5mm Audio Splitter Cable For Speaker and Headphone Model

NEC 16X DVD±R DVD Burner Beige IDE Model ND-3550A

Verbatim DataLifePlus 4.7GB 8X DVD-R 50 Pack Disc

Maxtor DiamondMax 80GB Hard Drive

1 Logitech Trackman Wheel TrackBall Mouse

2 Ethernet Cables

AES108P 10/100Mbps 8 port N-way Fast Ethernet Switch

Hauppauge 1062 PCI Interface WinTV-PVR-150 MCE Kit Tuner Card

Yeah, it's 8 things. And yes, it costed $300 after they jacked me with sales tax. But you know what? I don't care. It's all awesome, and I've wanted some of it for YEARS. So I'm happy. I'll probably get to order some stuff from some different online stores as well. :P

So, can anyone guess how old I am?

I'll be honest with you - I would have never guessed that.

Damn you got some nice stuff.

As for your question. I would say 17 or 18 years old.

Ding ding ding ding ding! That's correct! I'm 16 years old. It doesn't feel like it though... I've felt like I was about 25 since I was 12. What can I say? I'm a very mature person... despite how I act on the forums.
