thanks to this I dont know whether to think that the Wii is so weak a cube on roids could play its software, or that the visuals will get better when ATI finishes the Hollywood. Hopefully we can expect a slight to moderate increase in graphics.

One thing that still confuses me is where they see the 'Cube in that picture. Yes, I believe that it is not a Wii running the game, but I see only the GameCube power adapter there, not the system.

You can just see the back of it.

I recall Niintendo say that the Wii had about the same power as a GC. It would almost make sense that they could run Wii games on one that was modified enough. Still, it could be a nuthin but a big joke.

It may be an overclocked GCN, but I doubt it. The Revolution is a good deal more powerful than the GCN, but it uses the same architecture.

saw on g4 e3 review thingy that the wii will not have hi0def capabilities so there is one thing holding it behind

also, the wii seems to have to use so many peripharials to play the retros :?

I did like the Mario galaxy demo though

I think that the wii will have pretty good graphics even with its low specs because of no hi-def. I mean think about it without Hi-def, developers don't have to worry about having pushed the limits too far on the hardware. Every game that comes out for PS3 or X360 will have to be Hi-def compat even if you don't have a Hi-def tv, and if you play pc games you will know that resolution is a huge factor in your video performance.

I have a 48 inch HDTV, but it is rear projection and can have burn in, so I've only played about an hour on that TV w/o HD hookups to see what it was like.

actually from what i read its a new devkit in a GC case, its not actually CG hardware. so my guess is the graphics seen at e3 are about what we should expect from the real thing, possibly with some improvement.
