Wii. Why it will win.
I think wii will win because its a new experience. I hae a ps2 and gc. I have to say ps2 is award winningly better. But Wii will be better then ps3. From what i see from the launch, i always want a new epxerience, heck i get it from snes. But ps2 seems just to much like ps3, with nothing better then graphics, no gameplay. I bet you i can name many games that are better then there launch titles. Wii, on the other hand is a whole enw experience bringing you into the game more, and it wont bust your wallet. What i am wetting myself over is the ability to buy retro games on the ent fro Wii.
As for the 360, nobody wants that, its ugly. Ha. I dont like xbox or halo. ha.
too dumb to do any portables. lol
sorry to say but the points that you make are horrible
cant this apply to PS1 to PS2 also? but you also said that PS2 is better than GC, which is a very different experience than N64, with 2 joysticks and 4 buttons on GC compared to 1 joystick and 2 buttons on n64.But ps2 seems just to much like ps3, with nothing better then graphics, no gameplay.
this is completely opinion, and doesnt affect gameplay at all. Say i dont like the look of Wii? even if the games are amazing should i not buy it because i dont like the looks? As for the 360, nobody wants that, its ugly
yet another opinion...I dont like xbox or halo
well actually although the control scheme is different almost every game is a sequel and will have gameplay which you are used to... heck, zelda is coming out for both systems!Wii, on the other hand is a whole enw experience bringing you into the game more

i love nintendo and all but out of the x-box ps2 and GC days the x-box kicks ass... the GC was a major let down nothing happend on it, and just like the DS all the good games for it are staying in japan. that says somthing about how nintendo is aproching the world market. i dont expect that nintendo Wii will sell vary well here but they will kill in japan, thats where the games are played and thats all they care about.
Look who here has even handled a Wii controller? Who here has played a PS3 game? You can't make comparisons til you have experianced the system.
The best that cab be said abou the 360 is that it looks nice, however it's really just a beefier Xbox. The only that has really changed on it is that you have USB ports rather then controller ports and you can save content on it (more then just songs).
PS3, is being sold as a computer or media center, a little like the 360 but unlike the the 360 it has more computer abilites. 2 ethernet ports, 6 USB ports, reads CD-RW/DVD+-RW/BlueRay and has Linux for desktop computer use.
Wii, well that's much like the GameCube. The most underpowered of the three, made to be simply a console so no extra features. The biggest thing is that they have a concept based controller that looks like a big rip off of the CDi's controller. Unless Nintendo has some really nice games that new controller layout isn't going to mean much.
Game play is really all that matters. I will admitt that some of that does involve the controller, as the PS2 controller is rather combersome to handle when attempting to use the analoge sticks. However I don't see Nintendo's winning unless they get some "Teen" or "Mature" rated games for their system.
I know some of this is opinion but remember that humans are creatures of habit and unless Nintendo breaks the habit of appealing to the younger audiance they will not do any better then they did this generation. And really don't pull up that BS on how they are not looking to be number one, everyone wants to be number one.

i have recently been swayed to the wii train of thought
I believe wii will do sucessful, The fact is Sony does have an enormous fanbase, will that be enough though?
Microsoft has put up a floater for now, but will the new games coming out save it?
Wii, oh wii, yes it is a new experience, that could be good or bad, yes it is backwards compatible, so what?, yes it can play the older roms, so what? I believ that this new Zelda game, the mario galaxy, and a few other titles are using the wii controller to its advantage and has been said that it is very intuitive... That is what sounds promising.
Now I plan to own them all...
... not all at once though

Oh noes!
Fanboys Attack!
First off, I love the Wii. It's a beautiful, well developed system with a truly noble cause. It wants to be the first system to bring people who are intimitaded by video games into the spectrum, much like the DS, if not more. It will have the price that most people will actually be able to pay at launch, and will get cheaper faster becuase of cheap parts ("G5" powerpc, DVD drive, etc) than the advanced PS3 and 360. It's a wonderful system, except for one thing.
The name.
"The Wee"?
Well, at least I know what they are going to call the next gameboy line...
"The little Wii in your pocket!"
The PS3 is amazing, and costs more than most things in your house. The 360 has a similar curse.

thats a vary crude statement, i think theres nothingwrong with presenting speculation based on what we know (hey you dont mind ither*1-3*) all be it your presenting specs and then saying still that game play matters? i agree with you i'm telling you that nintendo has a reputation of not producing there excelent games every where in the world leaving us uncontent with X-box and ps2 clones for "revoluionary" and uniqe consoles... so yeah they are way better at making games and building there ideas but there not going through with producing them. look at all the fuctions of the DS that arnt being used, instead its staying as a tuch screen puzzle machine and not the hard core online interface it could also become.Sparkfist wrote:Look who here has even handled a Wii controller? so if nintendo had the balls they would actualy use there systems produce real games and actualy sell us some of the ones hiding back in japan.
instead it lays down now with the x-box360 and the ps3... and it dosnt matter witch one wins there bouth boring.

You do know that the PS3 is really the most advanced of all three consoles, right? Unlike the 360 and Wii that are using G5 processors (both getting old fast) the PS3 is using the new Cell processor. It also has the best specs out of all of them; full HD resolution, Blue-Ray video/game playback, and yeah comes standard with a hard drive (with linux no less).Joes2Silly wrote:I think the one reason people dont want to buy a PS3 is the price. Who wants to buy a fancy PS2 with better graphics for $500
As I mentioned before.
So I don't see how it's like a PS2.Sparkfist wrote:PS3, is being sold as a computer or media center, a little like the 360 but unlike the the 360 it has more computer abilites. 2 ethernet ports, 6 USB ports, reads CD-RW/DVD+-RW/BlueRay and has Linux for desktop computer use.
Also to the rest of you why don't we just wait til we know what launch titles the Wii is going to have. I don't see anyone here having any first hand experiance in playing or handling the Wii.

I just hope Sony puts a rumble info in the games so that third parties at least can create a rumble controller
Weight is not that big an issue for me If it is heavy, I guess I will just have stronger forearms...from the controller (pervs)

cell processor so what remember the garbage Emotion processor that was suposed to prvide some intelegent experiance... what you dont? and the hardware specs mean absolute dick when your trying to kill hookers in GTA detriot on your brand new xbox 720 next year? I had no idea... also check some live shots of the three consoles if specs get you off, (pre renders and cuts dont count) cus the Ps3 is the least impressave one... (concidering its 699 for the "Crap" unit or what ever the marketing hype is) Still I dont mean to bash the thing i like the "original" "Idea" (STOLEN RIP OFF) for the controller and... alright theres not much i like about it besides its probly going to play GTA. but realy what else are you going to judge the system for its a peace of over priced cloned junk same as the x-box and Wii whats uniqe is the games that nintendo arent going to be selling and the carbon copy games that will apear on all systems regardless of specs and what not./rant
